SNK once again try their hand at a side-scrolling action game. Looks good, sounds great, but plays really awkwardly. The feudal Japan / time travel setting is superb and original, but it's more of a missed opportunity than anything else. Hard to find in good condiion! The SFC gets itself a rather rough conversion of Sengoku, from Data East of all people. A bit patchy, but it keeps the arcade's 2-player mode. It has also gained a lot of value as a Data East / SNK collectible. Standard SFC cardboard packaging, 8Mbit cartridge, colour booklet.

Sammy's Mega-CD version cuts to the chase and drops the 2P mode in order to focus on the visuals and gameplay. The end result is OK-ish, but again this could have been a lot better if it had a bit more work put into it. As it stands it just isn't a patch on many other games in the genre.
