Sega's much anticipated sequel to the groundbreaking Out Run (1986) should have been a lot better, but still plays a fun arcade-style racing game. This 1990 FM Towns port was the first home conversion of the game, and despite adding an enhanced CD soundtrack it still fails to make much of an impact, and faded into obscurity almost as fast as the arcade. It does retain some interest as an oddball Sega / FM Towns curio though, since it is now very hard to find complete in good condition.

The MD Turbo Out Run is, for lack of a better word, a disgrace. Considering this came out 7 months after the MD Out Run, there is simply no excuse: the game is jerky, ugly and barely playable. It's so bad in fact, it almost makes Out Run 2019 (1993) look good. Standard MD case, 4Mbit cartridge, colour manual.
